NIGEC's mission is to carry out research on global environmental change. It operates in an interdisciplinary, multi-investigator mode, examining the causes and consequences associated with global environmental change, particularly climate change due to human modification of the atmosphere.
Developmental Neurobiology and Environmental Toxicology Laboratory
The main focus of the laboratory is on the effects of pollutants on the early embryo, in general, with an additional emphasis on the effects of pollutants on the nervous system throughout the embryonic period.

Molecular Structure Center
Small molecule database of structures that have primarily been determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction. Features JAVA applets that can be used to orient and examine the molecule, and a dedicated Beowulf computer system to generate high quality rendered images. Currently contains over 2,500 molecules.
